"A goat is not just an animal, but anything or anyone who acts on impulse(without thinking), follows the crowd without calculating the risks involved or thinking about the consequence of doing that thing, and someone who copy others just to fit into the society, and not to feel left out, even when they know that thing is wrong. THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF A GOAT."
Dear brethren, we are humans, not goats, but it is with a heavy heart that I unapologetically say that today, majority of us are starting to either ACT LIKE goats, or REPLACE their existence. Today, not just research, but social media itself has made us know that majority of those who are hip-hop stars,
artists, singers, actors, westlife singers, tik-tokers, yahoo youths, and prostitutes, are Muslims. Pathetically, majority are not just Muslims, but Muslims who come from strong islamic background, Muslims who finished and memorized the whole Qur'an, but DID NOT IMPLEMENT ANYTHING THAT IT'S TEACHES, Muslims whose parents spent their whole youth nurturing their Islamic knowledge(Deen),
but ignorantly exhibited the behaviour of a GOAT by following the crowd, copying the society, joining trend, and doing things on impulse. It hurts me deeply every time I log into social media and find youths, ESPECIALLY THE MUSLIMS, bearing beautiful Muslim names yet ironically have sold their soul,
Istikhama, taddabur, and tawwakul to TIKTOK, ILLICIT sexual act, pornography, black soaps for fast money, fame, secret groups, occult, facebook dating sites, night parties, club, and hip-hop music. Many muslim ladies today have lost their hayah(dignity), shame, sense, and fear of Allah to such an extent that they see nothing wrong in STUPIDLY and IGNORANTLY exposing their burst, laps, chest, navel, and even their private part to the public, all in the name of, "I need more followers on tiktok, I need likes on Instagram, I need views on my reels, or I need to earn money through social media." Subhanallah!
Even those who were privileged to be using middle length hijab, Cape Hijabs, Jilbab, or burst length hijab, gradually removing it as a result of social media pressure, and started seeing their hijab as an obstruction, obstacle, and deterrent to their social life, career, cheap fame, and misfortune disguised as fortune, until the HIJAB was no where to be seen around their head, and their hair, neck, and burst is all we could see. Subhanallah! In addition, it is no new thing that today, the likes of Naira Marley, Seyi vibes, Olamide, Harris J, Ice Prince, Reminisce, D'banj, Sound sultan, Sasha P, DJ. Jimmy Jatt, are Muslims who claim the identity,
yet everything they do is far from HALAL, or acceptable in islam, negates the SUNNAH, and teachings of the Qur'an. Ya Allah! The fate of these individuals is something that only Allah can decide, yet, not the intention of judging anyone, but if truly these personalities have sold their souls to their worldly desires, and youthful exorbitant, and social media vices, then the aftermath will be nothing but DESTRUCTION and RUIN. Yes, because when Allah is ready to punish them, or anyone who disobeyed him WILLINGLY, not just them, but ALL THOSE WHO LISTEN TO THEIR MUSICS, ATTEND THEIR CONCERTS, PLAY THEIR SONGS, BE IT AT PARTIES,
WEDDINGS, NAMING CEREMONY, BIRTHDAYS, ANNIVERSARY etc., will equally meet their DESTRUCTION and DOOM. Because Allah has given us all we need to thrive in this world as MUSLIMS, but we chose to DO and UNDO, forgetting that there's CONSEQUENCE for everything we do BOTH IN THE HIDDEN AND OPEN. Good! Continue! Keep testing Allah's patience, and watch how your life gradually loses its sanity. Dear brethren, many of these individuals were Muslims just like you and I, they are youths just like you and I, but what caused them to go astray is simply because,
they have chosen to abandon their Islamic values and principles in pursuit of worldly fame and materialistic desires. They have become GOATS, blindly following the crowd and neglecting the INJUNCTIONS OF ALLAH. It is a stark reminder that we must remain steadfast in our faith and not succumb to the pressures of society, especially social media. We cannot afford to call ourselves Muslims, especially we the ladies, yet do things that will invite the wrath of Allah upon ourselves. The world is corrupt, it's getting worse everyday, but we must think critically, evaluate the risks and consequences before making decisions,
and stay true to our beliefs as Muslims, even if it means standing alone, because Allah is always with those who leave everything for his sake. Please, let us not forget the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who exemplified wisdom, righteousness, and humility. He never sought the approval of others or compromised his religious principles for the sake of anything or anyone. We should strive to follow his path and be guided by the light of Islam. Dear brothers and sisters, this is not just a piece, but a wake-up call for us to reflect on our own actions and choices as Muslims.
Are we merely following the herd without considering the impact on our souls and the society at large? Are we allowing ourselves to be influenced by fleeting trends and the pursuit of instant gratification? Or have you forgotten that in the end, we will REGRET everything we did, except the time we spent in worshiping Allah, or the things we did for His sake. Let us strive to be good Muslims, let us nourish our souls with knowledge, strengthen our faith, and seek guidance from the Quran and Sunnah. By doing so, we can resist the temptation to become GOATS, and instead become beacons of light, inspiring others to follow the path of righteousness. May Allah guide us all and protect us from the traps of this world. Ameen.
