I was OPPORTUNED to......: WRONG ❌
I was OPPORTUNE to.....: RIGHT✅
We often hear people say things like, “I was opportuned to be in London last week” and so on. Infact, majority of us unconsciously or consciously, make this mistake. But the truth is that there is no such thing as “opportuned” anywhere in the Standard English. The correct word is “opportune.” It is an adjective; therefore it has no past tense.
