My Hijab, Our Hijab

"My Hijab, our Hijab" by Sakeenah'writes:

Dear, Muslimahs, have we ever asked ourselves, what is hijab? 

Have we ever asked ourselves, why are we using the hijab? 

What exactly is the significance of the hijab we wear!

Or how should the hijab be used or worn.

Have we ever asked ourselves!

Dear muslimahs, do you know 

that my hijab, our hijab is not just a piece of cloth

or a barely scarf worn around the head and neck. 

Do you know that my hijab, our hijab is not just a garment worn during salat alone

and that even when we use the hijab during salat, 

Every part of our body must be covered excluding our hands and face which are voluntary.

Dear muslimahs, my hijab, our hijab is not just a piece of cloth

But a crown that makes us a queen.

It is a covering, that makes us unique and different from others. 

It is a veil that makes us the best amongst the rest.

It is a beautiful garment, that should be worn

to cover and conceal all the sensitive parts of our body

Not revealing them for the world to see.

Dear muslimahs, my hijab, our hijab is obligatory to all muslimahs

Because, Allah has commanded every female

who has attained puberty to use it

And shall not be opened to anybody 

except to our mahrams(Those who are permitted to see us without hijab).

My hijab, our hijab; is a pride for us as  muslimahs, 

A proof of our obedience to Allah, 

A symbol of our modesty as ladies, 

A symbol of our chastity as females, 

A symbol of our purity as Allah's creature

And the hijab sincerely makes us precious slaves of Allah.

My hijab, our hijab is part of our faith — iman

It is part of our jihad — the striving in the cause of Allah 

Without the hijab, our faith is incomplete

Without the hijab, our chances of entering Al-Jannah are slim

Without the hijab, Shaytan can easily have power over us and make us derail

And without the hijab our body is prone to abuse.

Dear muslimahs, jettison everything the world say about you

Stop giving excuses for not using the hijab and start using it today

Stop wearing revealing clothes

Stop Exposing the sensitive parts of your body to the world.

Desist from walking in a way that will attract the lustful eyes of the opposite sex.

Dear muslimahs, Stop revealing what Allah has commanded us to conceal,

Stop worrying about worldly things and make the hijab your priority.

Stop using the hijab to propagate evil and become an exemplary muslimah.

Fall in love with the hijab and start using it

not because of what the world will say 

but because you want to earn the ramah of Allah.
